Method — Screening-level estimate

Air volume and cooling load are floor-area ratios. This is NOT a psychrometric, equipment-selection or duct-sizing calculation.

Every result below is produced by the same engineering engine that feeds the High-Rise reference project, so a quantity taken from this page and a quantity taken from the workflow cannot disagree.

Governing Formula

Governing Formula
Q = A x h x n

Where:

  • A = Conditioned floor area [m2]
  • h = Ceiling height [m]
  • n = Air changes per hour [1/h]

Derived Equations:

Cooling load in kW: Q_kW = A x w / 1000
One air handling unit per floor: AHU = floors
Total ductwork run: L_duct = A x ratio

Assumptions & Limitations

  • No psychrometric properties, no sensible/latent split, no fresh-air or filtration load.
  • Duct sizes are not derived - no velocity or pressure-drop calculation.
  • No heat-pump, chiller or plant selection; use the Electrical Supply calculator for the demand side.
Engineering Disclaimer & Verification Notice

This calculator provides preliminary engineering estimates for informational and planning purposes. Actual reverse osmosis / engineering system performance depends on site conditions, feed-water chemistry, membrane characteristics, operating pressure, temperature, recovery limits, fouling/scaling potential, and system design. Verify results using project-specific data, manufacturer projections, and applicable engineering standards before final design or operation.
