Method — Screening-level estimate

Demand is a rule-of-thumb W/m2 figure with a declared diversity factor. This is NOT a short-circuit, protection, earthing or cable-sizing study.

Every result below is produced by the same engineering engine that feeds the High-Rise reference project, so a quantity taken from this page and a quantity taken from the workflow cannot disagree.

Governing Formula

Governing Formula
P_connected = A x w

Where:

  • A = Total floor area [m2]
  • w = Connected load density [W/m2]

Derived Equations:

Connected load in kW: P_kW = P_connected / 1000
Maximum demand after diversity: S_kVA = P_kW x (diversity / 100)
Distribution boards, two per floor: DB = 2 x floors
Circuits per dwelling: MCB = 3 x units

Assumptions & Limitations

  • No circuit diversity by load class, no motor starting currents, no neutral-harmonic study.
  • Cable sizes are not derived - no ampacity, voltage drop or grouping-factor calculation.
  • Not suitable for transformer selection or protection coordination.
Engineering Disclaimer & Verification Notice

This calculator provides preliminary engineering estimates for informational and planning purposes. Actual reverse osmosis / engineering system performance depends on site conditions, feed-water chemistry, membrane characteristics, operating pressure, temperature, recovery limits, fouling/scaling potential, and system design. Verify results using project-specific data, manufacturer projections, and applicable engineering standards before final design or operation.
