- Feed — Raw feed water entering the train.
- Pretreatment — Scale control and pre-filtration before pressurisation.
- High-pressure pump — Pressurises the feed to overcome osmotic pressure.
- RO membrane — The desalination stage. Recovery defines permeate vs concentrate split.
- Permeate — Product water (low TDS).
- Concentrate — Brine / reject stream carrying the rejected salts.
