Why This Project Matters
The project links utility-scale SWRO directly to Dubai’s clean-energy and net-zero strategies, targeting the full decarbonisation of desalinated water supply. Reported energy use of around 2.9 kWh/m³ illustrates how membrane plant energy intensity has fallen roughly a third over the past decade, and how strong pre- and post-treatment design underpins that efficiency.
